Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to pick up and process donations. All items donated to the ReStore need to be cleaned, tested, priced and displayed in the store. This can be a pretty dirty job, but is fun! You never know what we will receive from our wonderful donors.

Local builders, contractors, businesses and individuals are encouraged to donate usable building materials and home furnishings left over after construction projects, as well as store items that are overstocked or discontinued. The ReStore can provide an alternative and cost-effective means of disposal of these items.

You can also help by making financial contributions or volunteering. The ReStore operates on volunteer power. Join our crew for work and fun, while helping to improve our community!

ReStore volunteers work with our current staff on various duties. Volunteers decide what duties they would like to do. You may work on inventory pick ups and clean up with our Donation Coordinator, work on making displays in the store, or help keep the store neat and clean with our Customer Care Associates. The following are a few basics about volunteering in the ReStore.

All volunteers are required to fill out a waiver of liability. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a waiver filled out by their parent or guardian before they can work for Habitat.

Volunteers are encouraged to give Habitat at least a 24 hour notice of their volunteer day to ensure a project is ready to start. However, walk in volunteers are appreciated as well.

We do not have secure place for storing personal belongings. Please come prepared to leave purses and pocket books in the car or leave them in an unlocked area.

Work in the ReStore can be dirty, please dress appropriately and wear comfortable shoes.

Be sure to let the ReStore Manager know of any disabilities, health conditions, or weight limits before you start work. This does not disqualify you from being a volunteer. It makes a safer work place and helps us fit your talents to our needs.  Please click here to volunteer!

Volunteers are encouraged to work a minimum of a 4 hour shift.

Our hours are:

Tuesday – Thursday 9am – 5pm

Friday – Saturday 9am -4pm
